We got into the epoxy counter tops because I wanted the cedar planks my father-in-law had in his barn for our front office. Tim started to do some research on epoxy and found a company out of Oregon that was doing amazing things.
The video below shows the front office counter top being created. All our counter tops are built out of Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). I wanted a more rock-like edge to my front, so you will see below how that was created. The base coat is painted a color that will be the most dominate. I wanted my top to look more concrete, so I choose gray.
After the base color was dry, we then put the epoxy on the top. We have 45 minutes to create the look you are wanting. I knew I wanted a more concrete look, so I added a few silver Mica Flakes. I also love to make veins, so I added a few of those as well.
